Shikoku, Japan has its fair share of castles (and castle ruins). I may have explored many shrines and temples in Shikoku but I also got the chance to visit some castles as well; 5 of them to be exact. Some of the castles I visited like Uwajima Castle are still mostly in their original form from back when they were still used while others like Ozu Castle were painstakingly rebuilt using models are pictures.
Shikoku Castles
I spent most of the time in Ehime and Kochi while barely any time in Kagawa and Tokushima. The udon lover in me must return to Kagawa and Tokushima seems like the perfect summer destination for camping, hiking and exploring; I also want to go back there when it’s warmer. Some of the castles even had stamps for my Goshuin book so I now have stamps from shrines, temples and castles!
