Shikoku is the fourth largest island in the Japanese archipelago and is southwest of Japan’s main island Honshu. It is divided into four prefectures Ehime, Kochi, Tokushima and Kagawa. In my recent trip to Shikoku, I found it to be very interesting with a mixture of attractions with a focus on temples and shrines and a splattering of castles. I definitely want to revisit in the summer to take in some of the warm weather-friendly attractions such as hiking and rafting. Check out the video below covering the temples and shrines I visited and remember to subscribe to my Youtube channel for more videos.
Shikoku Temples and Shrines
During my time there I visited 4 Shinto Shrines and 2 Buddhist Temples as I continue to collect stamps for my Goshuin book. I also visited some of the castles in Shikoku but I will leave that for a separate post (and video!). Check out pics of each of the shrines and temples I visited below and share your feedback in a comment below or on Twitter @Jamaipanese.
