Monster Hunter Wilds after 100 hours

Monster Hunter Wilds launched almost two months ago. After more 100 hours, I can honestly say it has been a wonderful experience that has met my expectations for a new Monster Hunter game. It had some growing pains though. It runs terribly on PC, was missing some important social features at launch, and multiplayer was so complicated and convoluted at launch it was frustrating.

Better after 1st Patch

A few patches and one major updates later, things are much better. My gaming laptop can now run it reliably, even though I have to turn settings down if I want to stream @Jamaiplays at the same time. The grand hub is everything we could want and more. As for multiplayer, everyone eventually figured out that Link Parties are the way to go if you want to play with friends.

Monster Roster

I have been addicted to the Monster Hunter formula of hunting, crafting and hunting again. The story isn’t as bad as many say and I genuinely welcome the narrative efforts. The monsters are where Monster Hunter Wilds shine though, with new favourites like my new crush Lala Barina and old favs like Rathian have never looked better. Every new monster is amazing (even than Rompopolo weirdo). There has never been more variety and polish in a base game monster roster, and I love it. As a lance main I have never been happier as my journey in the monster Hunter franchise that started with Tri, then revived with World then amplified with Rise is now at its peak in Wilds. Here’s to a 100+ more hours. Find me in my discord playing with friends in our squad called the Dodogama Defenders as we await the announcement that our Dodogama messiah will be coming to Wilds, or it’s expansion…
