Hello, my name is Kirk and I can’t stop making Portmanteaus. There is something about smashing two words together to create a new one that releases happy feelings in my brain. Jamaipanese is obviously my greatest creation, with Kantanji somewhere in the top 5. However, the world doesn’t know that I have a secret stash of portmanteau that I (hopefully) never release into the world.
“Hokkaipai”
Handbag, smog, vlog, podcast, cyborg and the legendary spork is enough to give portmantorians (see what I did there?) like me pleasurable spasms, but I will bless you with my latest creation “Hokkaipai” a majestic blend of Hokkaido and senpai because I have mad respect for my Hokkaido senpai, podcast co-host and my third favourite Canadian; Aaron AKA TicTaek who gave me excellent tips, recommendations and guidance when I visited Hokkaido for an academic conference towards the end of my graduate school studies.
Hokkaipai; perhaps your greatest portmanteau creation. But I may be a bit biased for multiple reasons. haha
