If visiting the 4 main Japanese islands are like collecting the infinity stones, then my recent trip to Hokkaido for an academic conference allowed me to collect them all. Fear not, I will not be snapping anything or anyone out of existence, instead I was charmed by Sapporo; in the summer at least.
Hokkaido Trip Highlights
Highlights of my trip include eating so much soup curry in 2 days, I consistently felt it twirling around in my belly. Grabbing a brand new Goshuincho at Hokkaido Shrine to start my 2nd book. Visiting the Hokkaido museum and learning so much about Hokkaido, its history, especially about its native people, the Ainu. Oh, and let’s not forget presenting a poster about my research at Hiroshima University at the 2025 Spring JASID Academic conference held at Hokkaido University.
I really want to return to explore far and wide and not just Sapporo. I can’t wait for the opportunity to return to Hokkaido.
