Capsule Hotels are a great choice when travelling on a budget. I’m a huge fan of these cheap no frills accommodation and have stayed in at least a dozen of them in my time in Japan. During my recent trip to Kyoto I stayed at Capsule Hotel Continue, a capsule hotel that ticks all the boxes when you just need a clean box to sleep in with showers etc in a central location as you walk 20 thousand plus steps a day.
Accommodation in Kyoto is notoriously expensive due to high demand. As a graduate school student, I couldn’t afford dropping a small fortune on a hotel I’d probably spend a few hours sleeping at only. Capsule Hotel Continue in Kyoto is pretty much right next to Nijojo Castle and well-connected to the bus system in Kyoto city. It hasn’t dethroned Matsue Urban Cubic room as my favourite capsule hotel that I have stayed at, but I was quite impressed.
