Babel – I paid to watch 1/3 of a movie

Made a unplanned trip to the movies after a long stressful week at work and of the five films being shown I had alreay watched two, I was tempted to watch Dreamgirls again but decided reluctantly to check out Babel because I remember seeing something involving Japan in a trailer I glimpsed. Firstly, I am not a fan of Brad Pitt for reasons that would need an entire blog entry to explain.

The movie is split in three main sections running almost concurrently in Mexico, Japan and Morroco with my favourite third being the one that follows the “adventures” of a mute Japanese high school girl played by Rinko Kikuchi. I really don’t want to spoil the film for those wo havent watched it already but I don’t like it very much. It is loosely connected, has the most gross make out scene I have ever seen and if I was Moroccan I would be upset to see how my country was portrayed.
