Mr Akira Toriyama is a legend in the field of manga. He has worked on many manga, video games and other forms of media but my exposure to his work came from Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest and of course Dragon Ball.

Dragon Ball Z
Dragon Ball especially Dragon Ball Z is an anime and manga series that has been a part of the lives of multiple generations of anime and manga fans (Akira Toriyama is so creative). Personally, I watched a lot of Dragon Ball Z growing up (on Cartoon Network’s Toonami) and well into adulthood. At one point during the Frieza Saga, it seems everyone from my middle-aged barber to my classmates were plugged into Namek then losing their minds when Goku transformed into a super saiyan for the first time. At my all-boys high school in Jamaica, we used to “smuggle” and trade super rare VCR tapes of Dragon Ball Z movies such as “The World’s Strongest” and “Tree of Might” dubbed in Japanese and unreleased in the West at the time.

Dragon Ball-related posts over the years
I love Dragon Ball and my posts over the year have reflected that. I’ve sought out ways to raise my power level, successfully found a dragon ball, explained why Dragon Ball Z has some awesome villains and one of the most memorable opening songs, and if I was ever going to defect from the goods guys, it would probably be to join the Ginyu Force.
Thank you Toriyama-san
Thank you Toriyama-san for all your contributions to the wonderful and imaginative worlds of anime, manga and video games.
