Usain Bolt on HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel

Believe it or not, but just by chance while channel surfing last night I surfed into the introduction of Usain Bolt’s feature on HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. I am aware of Usain’s many other appearances in the American media and I have watched most if not all of them either live or delayed.

Usain “Lightning” Bolt

Last nights interview/feature on HBO is probably my favourite, I watched with a keen eye expecting negative comments or provocative questions to be aimed at Usain by Bryant Gumbel but instead the feature was well done, focusing on Usain’s life before during and after his rise to global stardom which peaked at the 2008 Olympic Games in China.

Usain has truly developed into a global icon not only for athletics and it’s good to see him remain humble, focused and stay true to his personality. As a Jamaican, Athletics fan and young man I am proud of Usain “Lighting” Bolt and I look forward to more spectacular performances from his for many years to come. Be sure to check out repeat broadcasts of Usain on Real Sports. Usain was also ranked number 21 in the annual Askmen.com’s top 49 influential men 2008.
