The administrators of the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program are holding another video contest. The aim is to highlight the various charms of Japan as seen through the eyes of former and current JET participants. The last JET Video contest was held in 2017 around the time I was going through my JET application and arriving in Japan. Fast forward to now and I am a JET Alumni and considering entering.
All current and former JETs, regardless of their current country of residence may enter by submitting a 5-minute video that highlights the charms of Japan based on their experiences. Videos should also align with one of the following 3 famous Japanese idioms.
- 一期一会 (Ichigo Ichie) ‘Once-in-a-lifetime chance’
- 一生懸命 (Isshōkenmei) ‘Trying as hard as one can’
- 花鳥風月 (Kachōfūgetsu) ‘The beauties of nature’
Submissions for the JET Video Contest are open from 1 October 2023 to 17 January 2024 and more info, guidelines, rules, etc can be found here.
