It’s Independence Day here in Jamaica and there is a little more buzz in the air this year with lots of events leading up to today and a big Jamaica Independence Grand Gala to take place at the National Stadium this evening. It’s been 46 years since we lowered the British Union Jack of our colonial overlords and witnessed the Black, Green and Gold rise proudly for the first time, symbolizing the birth of Jamaica.
I’ll be attending for the first time with my family and I’m looking forward to something spectacular.
