I do love a good tactical game. Drop it in a good setting with an interesting story and I just can’t help myself. I got Broken Lines on a whim because it was on sale on Steam and had elements of other games I had enjoyed like XCOM: Chimera Squad and Valkyria Chronicles. I am just realising that all these games follow soldiers fighting in some kind of war or for survival but I am getting ahead of myself.

What is Broken Lines?
Broken Lines is a story-driven tactical RPG set in an alternate-history version of WWII. The player leads a very interesting squad of soldiers and faces the horrors of war. After almost three playthroughs and many hard decisions I really like the gameplay loop of this game. I care about (or hate) certain characters just enough to be interested, my decisions affect the game and the tactical aspect of the game really makes no two engagements the same.
Why I like Broken Lines
I like Broken Lines because I am never just hitting buttons in a set order (MMORPGs), grinding for hours (JRPGS), playing the same map with the same stuff over and over again (Battle royales) or unlocking all the good stuff and blowing through the content without much thought or effort. I have been streaming bits and pieces of my playthroughs on my Twitch channel and uploading clips to my gaming YouTube channel.
Please make a sequel to Broken Lines
That said the game runs terribly even on my ageing gaming laptop and is so buggy it feels the developers just abandoned it after a while. What a shame as it has so much potential and I really hope there is a sequel of some sort in the future. Leave a comment with a similar game I should check out or tweet me @Jamaipanese.
