The last few months have been a frustrating tug-o-war with my former web host for Jamaipanese.com. My blog was performing poorly, there was a reoccurring malware hack and other issues. When I tried to get help the customer service reps were more interested in upselling me some overpriced crap. In many ways, I blame myself for just being lazy to sort it out and over the last few days I put my IT degree and WordPress experience to work and I did just that.
Incoming technical blogging gibberish
My main fear with moving my blog is that at close to 15 years old its an elder in blogging years. The database was a mess and needed some cleaning after so many years of adding and removing plugins, updates and more. Also with over 1,300 posts and 10,000+ images, the WordPress install was quite… um “chunky”. So the first order of business was cleaning stuff up and well-needed maintenance. I’m happy to report that even though there were some glitches everything should now work (knock on wood).

Help me to breathe a sigh of relief by poking around on the blog.
