At first, there was the giant RX-78-2 Gundam that just had smoke effects, then came the giant Unicorn Gundam that has lighting effects. Now the latest RX-78 Gundam to be displayed in Osaka is movable!
I had the chance to see the Unicorn Gundam a couple of times now it seems that at some point in the next 2 years I will have to make my way to the Gundam Dock Tower in Yokohama to see the new one up close.
The movable RX-78 Gundam will be on display from Dec 19, 2020, to Mar 31, 2022, between the hours of 10:00 to 21:00. Tickets will cost 1,650 yen for adults and 1,100 yen for children with an additional 3,300 yen to climb the tower and be close to the robot as it does its things every 30 minutes. The Gundam is 18 meters (59 feet) tall and weighs 25 metric tons ( 55,000 pounds).
