Japan Scene 9: Graduating Kindergartners

Japanese is hard (for me). I plateaued not long after arriving but over the past year, I have been kicking the ceiling and starting to finally breakthrough (Unko Kanji Drill is the best thing since sliced bread). This post is being written in the middle of the Coronavirus chaos gripping Japan (and the world). It’s not business as usual at schools and unfortunately, I won’t be able to see off my kindergartners as they move a few miles down the road to the 2 elementary schools on my island.

I bought this book many moons ago and have no idea what happened to it

Take my own advice

Anyway, back to my Japanese; I was asked to write a short message to the sweet super energetic rugrats and I am quite happy with the result ( I did get help correcting some of my errors). The result is a new belief in myself and feeling that I too will be graduating from “kindergarten” Japanese. If only I can use the advice I dish out to my students and stop fearing mistakes but learn from them…
