Higashi Hiroshima is a city in Hiroshima prefecture and the Saijo area is famous for Sake production and the main Hiroshima University campus. Getting from Higashi Hiroshima to Hiroshima city is easy via the JR lines. Just get to one of the JR stations, in my case, I take the bus to Saijo then take the San-yo line from Saijo Station to Hiroshima city.
It takes about 45 mins with some scenic countryside views before slowly transitioning to the big city. There you can enjoy shopping, nightlife, exploring and more.
The 227 series “Red Wing” trains used by JR West is a regular site on the train tracks in Hiroshima and services many of the major train station on lines like the Sanyo, Kabe and Kure Lines.
