Volunteering at a Food Bank in Japan

Recently, as part of my work as a Hiroshima Study Abroad Ambassador, I got the opportunity to volunteer at a Food Bank in Japan. The Hitomusubi Food Bank is located in Higashi Hiroshima and serves the surrounding communities. It is open on the 8th, 18th and 28th of every month.

While volunteering there, I helped restock supplies, inspect and catalogue food donations and more. This experience allowed me to witness first-hand the impact of community-driven initiatives and the importance of collective efforts in tackling social issues. This opportunity enriched my time in Hiroshima and reinforced my commitment to serving others and making a positive difference wherever I can.
