I preordered the Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary Special Edition book more than a year ago. After many delays and delivery updates, it finally arrived recently.

This book offers a look into the creative process of George Lucas as well as interviews, comments, and behind-the-scenes looks into the making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back which was no easy task 40 years ago. The pictures are easily the best part of this hardcover book. Star Wars Fans who would like to see and read every detail will be satisfied with all the info packed into each page.
Quick Thoughts on this Book
Personally, I think the book is a little overpriced for less than 150 pages. If you are planning to get this, check it out physically at a store or library to see if if it is something you would want to buy. Then again the only other similar Star Wars-related book I own (other than Tarkin, Lords of the Sith, and a few other novels) is the Star Wars Encyclopedia of Starfighters and Other Vehicles that has over 200 pages but costs less. This 40th Anniversary Special Book would also make a great gift for any Star Wars fan in your life.
Why did I buy it?
I got this book because Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is my favourite of all the nine mainline Star Wars films. It really had an impression on me when I first saw it and it’s that one Star Wars film that I have re-watched more than all the others.
