Metroid Dread is the latest entry in the story of bounty hunter Samus Aran and her entanglements with the life-sucking Metroids. I was lucky enough to successfully preorder the Metroid Dread Amiibo double pack. The packaging is the standard affair for amiibos and I must say I like the posing on each figure.
E.M.M.I. Amiibo – the latest murderbot model
Starting with the E.M.M.I. murderbot or Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier – try to say that three times really fast. I don’t have a large collection of amiibo but I was quite surprised at how big the base of the figure is. The dark reflective metal contrasts well with the white armour with the red singular eye really popping. I am excited to experiment with lighting this bad boy. Scanning the E.M.M.I. amiibo for the first time will give players a bonus missile expansion. Scanning it again after that will top up your missiles a set number of times per day.

Samus Aran Amiibo – new Metroid Dread armour
Next up we have baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy herself. Samus Aran is sporting a new suit and that’s one of the story elements I am looking forward to being explained in the game. Whoever designed this suit at Nintendo needs a raise as the metal blue, red, gray, and white combined with the glowing green bits for the powered parts of her suit look really good. Scanning the Metroid amiibo for the first time will give players a bonus health tank. Scanning it again after that will top up your health a set number of times per day.

Metroid Dread game case art
As a little extra here is the game case which also has some interesting art inside the case. This alone makes me happy I ordered the physical version of the game instead of digital. The case, my Metroid Amiibos, and other Metroid-related things I have collected over the years will be the main centerpiece of the small display stand in my room for the foreseeable future.

Have you been playing Metroid Dread? Will be you buy it later? Have you played any Metroid games before? Let me know in a comment below or tweet me @jamaipanese.
