Over the past few weeks I have been working with a graphics designer to creat a set of custom smileys for Jamaipanese.com. A few months ago I discovered a smiley plugin for my blogging software but wasn’t happy with the default set of smileys, I got a freely available set which I have been using but although they were great I still longed for a customized set made just for my blog and unavailable anywhere else.
Satisfied Customer
I hired a designer for the task and he followed my instructions quite well and surpassed my expectations. So now I have a set of 22 smileys and although I wanted them available in time for my second blogiversary I didn’t want to rush and be dissatisfied. The best part is the cost for the smileys was covered by the ads I display on the site, absolutely no cost to me cool huh?
Blog Development and Jamaipanese.com Trademark
One of my hopes for this my third year blogging is to get Jamaipanese.com a look, feel and experience of its own. So I am developing a blogging trademark with these custom smileys and will be trying my best in improving the quality of my posts.
Big plans ahead
I have many big ideas on the drawing board for this website from something as simple as a new header and logo to a super secret surprise for all my visitors. Very cool and unique smiley, i’m sure you will create a strong branding.
I like em, but I think you can jazz em up a lil bit more. Maybe have a couple wrap the Jamaican flag around their head like a bandana or wear it like a towel. But they are definitely cool.

Definitely nice smileys! Perhaps I should think about doing something similar with my own blog. Out of curiosity, did you have to give the designer a template for the smiley itself? or did you give the designer create everything altogether? Take care!
