Let the Mobile Phone Service Wars Begin

Claro has now official launched in Jamaica (albeit with a few hiccups), Digicel is aggressively promoting it’s position as “Jamaica’s bigger better network” and Cable and Wireless is regrouping and rearming it’s entire Caribbean division to LIME to go on the offensive. The entire telecommunications sector in Jamaica in in for a big shakeup and the winner of this surge in competition is no doubt the customers.

I went into Claro’s head office earlier this week to grab myself a brand new iPhone only to be disappointed as they are not yet available and will not be til early next week. I might just wait the end of the month although I hope there will not too much of a rush and thus a shortage.

  1. Claro already has my vote…but then it all depends on who’s more considerate to my pockets…Neither Digi nor C&W intended to redefine themselves or bring anything new to the table until they got a little competition so i’m in no hurry to support them…don’t get the wrong impression, i’m sure in time Claro will adopt the same complacent attitude they had but for now lets just take the opportunity to drink it all in…^^
