Interesting Fall 2011 Anime

Forgive me, I have not been a good anime fan lately and I have hardly been watching any new shows. Of the interesting Summer 2011 anime I listed I have only watched a couple episodes of of Blood-C. I am not sure if it’s a lack of time or  that the recent series have not been interesting enough to get me excited but I am going to try to get back to my regular anime watching schedule and dedicate at least 5 hours a week to absorbing and blogging about anime. A little late out of the blocks (again) but I have scanned through the trailers and plot synopsis of most if not all the new anime coming this fall and I have picked out 4 below that I have watched zilch of so far but I will definitely be checking out. They are:

Mobile Suit Gundam AGE

I guess I’ll start with the most obvious addition to the list being the Gundam drone I am. It takes place in space, lots of colonies, epic battles and kids flying giant robots, can’t get more Gundam than that! To be honest I am not completely sold yet and ever since I knew it was coming I was wondering who decided on those character designs and extra kiddy look. But with Unicorn Gundam not scratching my Gundam itch well I guess I will give this a watch.

Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing

There are few anime worlds that can profess to be as unique as the world of Last Exile. Mix that in with a great story and memorable characters and I am quite surprised it took so long to a Last Exile sequel to appear but finally we have one in the form of Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing. I love the poster “Register & join the Sky Pirates, defend the skies! Pilot a Vanship! Enlist now!” Where do I sign up?

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

I’ve recently been staying clear of anime that that features teenagers in a high school setting, there are so many of them and I’ve grown tired of the scenes and sorroundings of schools. The plot synopsis of Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (I have no friends) though seems somewhat interested and I added it to my list as somewhat of a wildcard pick, lets see if I am pleasantly surprised.

UN-GO

I like mystery anime but have been unable to find a good one in ages. Lets see how  UN-GO turns out, the plot synopsis reads: Based from Sakaguchi Ango’s novel “Meiji Kaika Ango Torimonocho”: Meiji-era story about a detective named Yuki Shinjuro, who solves various incidents that happen in his circle of friends. The adaptation will utilize an original story set in the near future, revolving around the detective and a boy named Inga, who continually encounter mysterious cases.

  1. Gundam AGE
    Mirai Nikki(Future Diary)
    C3
    Guilty Crown
    Tamayura ~hitotose~
    Ben-To
Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing
    UN GO
    Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

  2. mirai nikki sucked and i have no urge to watch any of this mere commercial ones. un-go seems like a continuity of Gosick madness but as Bones left us clueless about their sanity with NO.6 its also hard for me to expect anything from that too. Guilty crown might be the only watchable one but it deserves no more then 5 out of 10…:/

      1. Gundam AGE is basically a back to basics Gundam series designed to bring a new generation/age of children into fandom. With that in mind the series seems to be achieving it’s goals veterans will probably find it rather boring though since going back to basics meant they took a formulaic route. [anime]

  3. I can’t believe you hated Gosick, it was great. But I wouldn’t compare Un-Go to Gosick, besides the fact that it is a mystery series, the comparison stops there. So far the mysteries have been pretty simple to solve and I am unsure if that is on purpose or not. Give it a glance.

    1. Un-Go and GOSICK both have great characters, beautiful animation, but are plagued by badly written whodunits causing you to care more for the characters and nothing else about the world or the situations they find themselves in.
