Bolt, Powell, Frater in, Gay out

Been going to bed late and waking up early since the Olympics began and now with the athletic events in full swing especially the sprinting I am even more interested. The event that most people around look forward to is the 100m final for men. I just watched the semi finals and I am happy to see 3 Jamaicans make it through to the final – Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell and Michael Frater. Usain has been magnificent in the 100m over the last few months, he fell in love with the event after being urged to try it by his coach and has been rewarded with the world record. Michael is the underdog but I happy that he made the final and I hope he achieved his first sub 10 second clocking by running the race of his life. Asafa…ooohhh Asafa….for those of you who don’t know I was really dissapointed with his performance at the World Championships in Japan last year and believe it or not although Usain Bolt looks like the better runner right now judging from the heats and is by far the favourite I am rooting for Asafa Powell, the only way I can explain it is that I am giving him one more chance to redeem himself for giving up whenever he isn’t in gold medal position and I think it’s time he adds a major title to his track resume because you can’t be the best without an Olympics or World Championships victory.

Good luck to the three Jamaicans, the final comes up in around 2 hours.
